Policies & FAQ

  • I require 48 hour advance notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. This allows time for someone else to schedule an appointment in your place. If you are unable to notify me of a cancellation with 48-25 hours notice, you will be charged for 50% the amount of your scheduled appointment. If you are unable to notify me of a cancellation with 24 hours notice you will be charged 100% of your scheduled appointment.

  • If you arrive late, your session will still end at the scheduled time so that appointments following yours can begin on time. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible to pay for the full session.

  • Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a "no-show". They will be charged for their missed appointment.

  • This is a healing environment and there is zero-tolerance for sexual innuendos, language, touching, behavior, etc. If such an occurrence takes place the session will end immediately and the Client will be charged for the full price of the appointment. Law enforcement will be contacted at my discretion.

  • For safety purposes, I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue treatment at any time. Reasons may include, but are not limited to the following: intoxication, derogatory or bigoted comments, sexual or romantic advances, contagious or unidentified skin conditions (ex. rashes, warts, etc.), illness or infectious conditions.

  • Professional draping will be used during the session – only the area being worked on will be uncovered. In general, massage is performed while you are unclothed, however you may choose to wear undergarments. I offer Manual Lymph Drainage which is performed fully clothed if you are concerned about modesty.

  • Clients are required to pre-pay for their sessions. New clients must book and fill out intake forms online. Returning clients, if I make an appointment on your behalf, you will receive an invoice via email. I accept both HSA and FSA - please check with your employer that massage therapy is covered under your plan.

  • Gratuities are by no means required, but always appreciated! Tips are accepted via cash and Venmo. If you choose to leave a cash tip, it can be left in the small envelope provided in the treatment room. Referring others to my practice and leaving a review on Google are great ways to show your support in lieu of a tip!

  • Should you need to cancel your session within 24 hours due to bad weather, the normal cancellation policy will be waived and we will reschedule your appointment. I will reach out the day before your appointment if bad weather is forecasted, so that we are in communication and both on the same page. I also reserve the right to cancel and reschedule massage appointments due to bad weather.

  • The massage you are going to receive is for the following purposes: stress reduction, pain reduction, relief from muscle tension, and/or increasing circulation. I do not, at any time, diagnose or prescribe medical treatment or pharmaceuticals, nor are spinal manipulations part of massage therapy.

  • Some pre-existing conditions and all recent surgeries within the past 6 weeks require doctor's approval prior to receiving a massage. If a massage is contraindicated, your therapist reserves the right to reschedule until doctor’s approval has been obtained.

  • The confidentiality of all client information will be upheld unless disclosure is required by law or court order. Your written permission will be obtained before any information is released to another healthcare professional.

  • Clients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The guardian will be required to remain in the treatment room during the session. A release form is also required for treatment of minors.

FAQ

  • When should I arrive for my session?

Arrive 10-15 minutes early to find your way, park, use the restroom, and allow time for an introductory meeting to go over areas of focus and what to expect from your session.

  • What should I wear during my massage?

Most of the time clients are fully undressed or wear underwear during their massage — it is completely up to you! I want you to be as comfortable as possible. Wear comfortable clothing for MLD. Please remove jewelry — necklaces, bracelets, and watches in particular.

  • Do you work with men?

Yes! I will gladly provide massages to men and anyone in the LGBTQ+ community as well. I hope to create a safe space for everyone.

  • Will I see results after one session?

You may feel relief after one session, but sometimes it takes more than one session for full pain relief. If you have had chronic pain for years, one session will not cut it.

  • How soon after giving birth can I come in for a massage?

Clients should generally wait 6 weeks after delivery. I require a doctor's note clearing you for massage after your delivery.

  • Do I have to leave a tip?

Tips are appreciated, but never expected. I accept gratuity through Venmo and cash. Other ways to support my practice include leaving a review on my Google page and referring your friends!
